Why we're doing this

Hand strength is an important health marker.

Hand strength quietly declines with age, long before it shows up as a diagnosis. Buttons get finicky. Jars get stubborn. A firm handshake stops feeling automatic. Most people write it off as just getting older, and most existing tools either treat it as inevitable or treat it only after something's gone wrong.

We think hand strength deserves the same attention as any other health marker you'd actually track. So we're building tools that target it directly (the muscles themselves, not just the symptoms).

Two approaches, one goal

How we can help your hands.

A first-of-its-kind electrical stimulation device built for the hand, and a hand exercise kit designed to work alongside it, or completely on its own.

HMES One

The Myogen Health HMES One Complete Kit packaging box on a wooden table.

A wearable electrical stimulation device, purpose-built for the small muscles of the hand.

  • Designed for the hand

Shaped and calibrated for hand anatomy specifically, not adapted from a larger-muscle device.

  • Simple by design

30 minutes of light stimulation, four days a week, done sitting in a comfortable position.

  • Built to medical device standards

Developed with clinical input, to recognised medical device standards, not a wellness gadget.

Hand Exercise Kit

The Myogen Hand Exercise Kit on a wooden table: a branded pouch, three tubs of therapy putty by resistance level, pink resistance bands, foam balls, and a printed hand exercise guide.

Tools for the intrinsic hand muscles that control fine motor strength, dexterity, and most everyday tasks.

  • Rubber bands

Finger-sized and graded in stages, for the opening and spreading motions many hand routines skip entirely.

  • Foam peanuts

Shaped for controlled, comfortable resistance, built to isolate the muscles between your fingers that a squeeze ball never reaches.

  • Therapy putty

Kneaded and pinched through a range of resistance levels, the same tool physical therapists use to rebuild grip after an injury.

Our approach

Stimulate, then exercise.
A rhythm of 4 days / week.

During your daily downtime, include a round of gentle electrical muscle stimulation followed by targeted hand exercises.

At the heart of our program is the HMES One. This is not a clinical machine made smaller, or a repurposed therapy device. It is being designed around the specific anatomy and physiology of the hand. Combined with our targeted mobility and strengthening exercises, the goal is to help your hands feel strong and capable again.

  1. 01

    Designed for the hand

Most stimulation devices are built for large muscle groups (backs, shoulders, quadriceps). The HMES One is being shaped specifically for the small intrinsic muscles of the hand, with a form, fit, and stimulation profile intended for that anatomy.

  2. 02

    A program, not a gadget

The device is one part of an exercise program including various hand movements targeted at finger and hand mobility. The stimulation is intended to support the 15-minutes of exercises you do with your own hands, not replace them.

  3. 03

    Made for ease and comfort

30-minutes of light stimulation while sitting comfortably. No clinic visits, no setup ritual, no fiddly app to manage. Designed to fit into the parts of the day you already keep for yourself.

  4. 04

    Built to medical device standards

HMES One is being developed with clinical input and to recognised medical device standards. It is not a wellness accessory and not a generic TENS or NMES unit.
